Elles sont remplac\u00e9es par le <strong>\u00ab&nbsp;Boulevard P\u00e9riph\u00e9rique&nbsp;\u00bb<\/strong> \u00e0 partir des ann\u00e9es 1950 qui permet de contourner le centre de Paris. Une fonction que pourrait ais\u00e9ment remplir la Petite Ceinture  : en tant que<strong> \u00ab&nbsp;p\u00e9riph\u00e9rique ferroviaire&nbsp;\u00bb<\/strong>, sa <strong>trajectoire circulaire<\/strong> est \u00e0 m\u00eame de r\u00e9pondre aux <strong>enjeux \u00e9cologiques<\/strong> de demain, et soulager de nombreux habitants et travailleurs en Ile-de-France. En <strong>1814<\/strong>, \u00e0 la chute de Napol\u00e9on, Paris est traumatis\u00e9e par <strong>l\u2019entr\u00e9e des troupes russes<\/strong> dans la ville. D\u00e8s lors, <strong>Adolphe<\/strong> <strong>Thiers<\/strong>, ministre de <strong>Louis Philippe<\/strong>, propose un <strong>nouveau syst\u00e8me d\u00e9fensif<\/strong>. Jean-Nicolas Lehec.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>En <strong>1860<\/strong>, Paris prend ses <strong>dimensions actuelles<\/strong>, en \u201cabsorbant\u201d le territoire des communes limitrophes situ\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de l\u2019enceinte de Thiers. Le gouvernement de <strong>Vichy<\/strong> les fait expulser par une loi de <strong>1940<\/strong>. Au sortir de la guerre, l\u2019\u00c9tat adopte une politique volontariste de grands travaux <strong>d\u2019am\u00e9nagements urbains<\/strong> \u2013 avec la <strong>voiture<\/strong> comme totem. Le d\u00e9but de la construction du p\u00e9riph\u00e9rique (photo 3).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De l\u2019enceinte de Thiers au Boulevard P\u00e9riph\u00e9rique<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Les travaux du P\u00e9riph\u00e9rique d\u00e9marrent en <strong>1956<\/strong> par le tron\u00e7on <strong>Est<\/strong>. La boucle est boucl\u00e9e presque 20 ans apr\u00e8s, en <strong>1973<\/strong>. Ce projet, celui d\u2019une <strong>v\u00e9ritable autoroute urbaine<\/strong>, est le <strong>symbole de toute une \u00e9poque<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Celui o\u00f9 le <strong>train<\/strong> est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme un moyen de transport <strong>d\u00e9pass\u00e9<\/strong>, et o\u00f9 la voiture est plac\u00e9e au c\u0153ur de tous les d\u00e9placements. <strong>La ville doit imp\u00e9rativement s\u2019adapter<\/strong>, s\u2019a\u00e9rer sous peine <strong>d\u2019\u00e9touffer<\/strong>, selon les urbanistes de l\u2019\u00e9poque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p class=\"responsive-video-wrap clr\"><iframe title=\"Les d\u00e9buts du p\u00e9riph\u00e9rique \u00e0 Paris | Archive INA\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rGNEqHjouJI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Si cette mentalit\u00e9 <strong>trouve son apog\u00e9e<\/strong> dans les <strong>ann\u00e9es 60\u200a\u2013\u200a70<\/strong>, elle a prend ses <strong>racines<\/strong> d\u00e8s les <strong>ann\u00e9es 30<\/strong>, alors que le trafic automobile s\u2019accro\u00eet fortement. Premiers fruits de cette politique favorable \u00e0 l\u2019automobile&nbsp;: les <strong>tunnels du Boulevard des Mar\u00e9chaux<\/strong>, qui ouvrent \u00e0 partir de <strong>1931<\/strong> (Porte Dauphine, \u00e0 2 pas de la gare de l\u2019Avenue Foch).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex Paris<\/strong>\u2026 mais aussi (et surtout) au <strong>Viaduc d\u2019Auteuil<\/strong> et \u00e0 la <strong>gare du Pont du Point du Jour<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery
